" Friends and family:
I was able to find your email addresses in Dad's mobile me account and I know there are many others who will want to know but I don't know how to reach them - so if there's anyone you feel you should forward this email to, then please do. As you know, Dad has been through 6 months of chemotherapy for a B cell lyphoma and we were so excited for July 5th to come so that we could get the results from a pet scan and be done with it all. Unfortunately, he fell last week and hit his head badly - he spent three days in ICU at Saint Francis Hospital and is still there, now in a regular room. He suffered severe trauma to his brain and will need to stay on at Saint Francis's rehab center for an as yet undetermined time. To help Mom and John T 3rd (his primary caregivers who are doing an extraordinary job of caring for him) manage the calls and well wishes, I've set up a caringbridge site. The link is below - you'll be able to sign in for journal updates made by the family and you'll also be able to leave messages for him in the guestbook. We'll be sure he sees those and I know the love and attention will bring a smile to his face. Mom is so appreciative of the offers for help- for now, he needs his rest and to focus on a good recovery. Please feel free to contact me directly if you want to talk, ask questions, whatever.
